One of my favorite things to create is a Market Bag. Each bag I knit has a different colored pattern, no 2 bags are the same. I use 100% cotton yarn. The weave is tight bringing much strength to the bags. People who have my bags comment on how beautiful they are as well as utilitarian.
I am an ambassador for the #TeachSDGs as well. This work has given me so much insight and perspective on how the smallest changes in our behaviors and attitudes about waste can help make positive changes that will impact the world.
When I knit I use all types of cotton yarn and will use remnants to finish a bag as not to waste any yarn. I use paper and cotton yarn to wrap my products on Etsy. This way materials can be reused or recycled. My Etsy shop: here
Creating market bags is one way I can encourage the idea of reusing an item over and over again instead of getting a bag each time you shop. This is one idea, one action that can have a positive impact. What are some ways that you can create less waste?
